We set down the basic principles and mechanics that we’ll use to control challengers while we work our deviousness upon them.
Thursday evening 2012.01.05 6:00pm
We went through most of the core concepts above, adding in the middle knee lead from a standing position and the simultaneous use of a straight knee lead with an outside knee lead. We covered making a good fist, punching the pads and started basic, straight line punching. Class finished up with dynamic stretching, theory and application.
Friday morning 2012.01.06 8:30am
Mit work, mit work and more mit work. The legs, hips, shoulders, and arms–they all go into your punches.

Class cancelled on a count of plague.
Thursday evening 2012.01.12 6:00pm
Passing Game: We talked about the posture angles. Both standing and sitting postures have 90°, 45°, and 0° angles. For basic training, we can analyze both the passing game and the guard game in terms of the resulting six possibilities.
Conditioning: Our range of motion work continues on as we combine a dynamic stretching protocol with reciprocal inhibition. As always, if you have any questions please consult your qualified health care provider. Also along the conditioning lines are the seated balancing exercises to get us ready for the spring and sitting guard work.
